X Trend: AI Product Launch Playbooks

A framework for tracking indie AI launches without copying shallow hype.

What To Track

Do not only track likes. Track launch mechanics:

  • what painful job the product promises;
  • how quickly the builder shows proof;
  • whether users reply with buying intent;
  • what pricing appears after the launch;
  • how the builder follows up after the first spike.

Useful Signals

The strongest posts usually include one of these:

  • revenue or MRR with context;
  • a workflow video;
  • a before-and-after result;
  • user quotes;
  • a clear niche.

Weak signals include vague AI demos, generic “built in a weekend” posts, and launches with no stated user pain.

Opportunity Pattern

Many AI launches reveal demand before they reveal durable products. The opportunity is to identify the repeated workflow behind the launch, then build a narrower version for a specific audience.

Risk Analysis

  • Social traction can disappear quickly.
  • AI infrastructure cost can hurt margins.
  • Product defensibility is weak if the workflow is too generic.

Next Validation Step

Track ten launches in a spreadsheet. Record niche, price, proof, acquisition channel, and follow-up. After two weeks, look for repeated jobs-to-be-done.
